LAS VEGAS, NV. – In a time when political conversations often focus on party labels, campaign ads, and election results, Clark County Public Administrator candidate Don Salazar sees public service differently.
More Than Politics: A Commitment to People
For Salazar, public service has never been about politics. It has always been about people. For decades, Southern Nevada families have trusted him as a Mortgage Loan Officer and Realtor, helping them navigate one of the most important milestones of their lives: purchasing a home.
From Kitchen Tables to Legacy Building
Over the years, he has sat at countless kitchen tables, helping families understand their options, make important financial decisions, and achieve the dream of homeownership. Today, many of those same families are calling him again. Only now, the conversations are different. “The young couples I helped buy homes years ago are now parents,” Salazar said. “Many of them are calling me because their own children are ready to purchase a home.”
Those conversations have given him a unique perspective on the changing needs of Clark County families. As he helps the next generation achieve homeownership, Salazar often finds himself asking a different question. “Have you protected what you’ve worked so hard to build?” For many families, the answer is no.
While homeowners spend years paying off mortgages, building equity, and creating financial security, many never take the next step of planning for the future. Wills, trusts, estate planning, and asset protection are often delayed until it is too late. That realization played a major role in Salazar’s decision to run for Clark County Public Administrator. “I’ve spent my career helping families build a legacy,” he explained. “Now I want to help families protect that legacy.”
Protecting What Families Work a Lifetime to Build
The Clark County Public Administrator’s Office serves an important role when someone passes away without a family member, trusted friend, or appointed representative available to manage their affairs. The office is responsible for protecting property, securing assets, managing financial obligations, and ensuring that estates are handled in accordance with the law. For Salazar, however, the position represents something larger than administrative responsibilities. Behind every estate is a family. Behind every property is a lifetime of work. Behind every asset is a story. “People spend decades working hard, caring for their families, and building something meaningful,” Salazar said. “Those legacies deserve to be protected.”
Integrity and Service Beyond the Campaign
Throughout his campaign, Salazar has met with residents, business owners, seniors, veterans, and community leaders across Clark County. While political conversations often focus on differences, he says the concerns he hears are remarkably similar. People want security for their families. They want to know their loved ones will be protected. They want confidence that the institutions serving them are operating with honesty, integrity, and compassion. Those values have guided Salazar throughout his life.
As a husband, father, grandfather, business professional, and longtime member of the Southern Nevada community, Don believes trust is earned through service and relationships, not campaign promises. That belief is why he continues to meet with voters, attend community events, and educate residents about an office many people know little about.
For Salazar, the campaign has never been about politics alone. It has been about helping people understand the importance of protecting their families, preserving their assets, and planning for the future. After spending decades helping Southern Nevada families purchase homes, he sees this campaign as a natural extension of that work. “At the end of the day, it’s still about helping families,” Salazar said. “The homes may be different. The generation may be different. But the goal is the same: helping people protect what matters most.”
For Don Salazar, public service is not measured by political victories or campaign slogans. It is measured by the families he has served, the trust he has earned, and the opportunity to continue helping the community he has called home for more than three decades.
