Don Salazar: Listening, Learning, and Connecting Across Clark County

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – One of the most rewarding parts of Don Salazar’s campaign for Clark County Public Administrator has been the opportunity to meet with residents, business owners, community leaders, and organizations across Southern Nevada. Over the past week, Salazar has participated in several community events and networking opportunities, sharing information about the often-overlooked role of the Public Administrator’s office while listening to the concerns and perspectives of Clark County residents.

Engaging with Business and Community Leaders

Among those events was a gathering hosted by the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, where Salazar met with local business leaders and community stakeholders. The conversations highlighted the importance of transparency, accountability, and professional leadership in public service. Salazar also attended Cafecito Time hosted by the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), an organization dedicated to advancing sustainable Hispanic homeownership and supporting professionals throughout the real estate industry.

“As a Hispanic family that has called Southern Nevada home for more than three decades, it was especially meaningful to connect with members of our community and discuss the issues that matter most to them,” Salazar said. “Events like these remind us of the strength and diversity that make Clark County such a special place.”

In addition, Salazar had the opportunity to speak with members of the Spring Mountain Republican Women’s Club, discussing the responsibilities of the Public Administrator’s office and answering questions about how his experience in real estate and finance prepares him for the role.

Educating the Public on an Overlooked Role

Throughout each event, Salazar found that many residents shared a common concern: they wanted to better understand what the Public Administrator does and why the office matters. “When someone passes away without a family member or trusted individual available to manage their affairs, the Public Administrator steps in to protect property, assets, and estates,” Salazar explained. “Most people don’t realize how important that responsibility is until they learn more about the office.” For Salazar, these conversations reinforce one of the primary goals of his campaign: educating the public about a position that impacts families during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Committed to Continued Outreach

Beyond the organized events, Salazar has spent time meeting with citizens, business professionals, and community members throughout Clark County. Whether discussing family legacies, property protection, or the importance of responsible public service, he believes every conversation provides an opportunity to better understand the needs of the community. “One of the things I’ve enjoyed most about this campaign is simply listening,” Salazar said. “The people of Clark County care deeply about their families, their community, and the future of Southern Nevada. I’m grateful for every opportunity to meet them, hear their stories, and share my vision for this office.”

Salazar’s community outreach efforts will continue in the coming weeks. He is scheduled to attend The Republican Club luncheon on June 2 and the Latin Chamber of Commerce Breakfast on June 5, where he looks forward to meeting additional community leaders, business professionals, and residents from across Clark County. “Every event is an opportunity to learn something new and connect with people from different backgrounds and experiences,” Salazar said. “The more conversations we have, the better we can understand the needs of our community and the responsibilities that come with serving it.”

As the campaign continues, Salazar says he remains committed to meeting residents where they are, listening to their concerns, and educating the public about the important role of the Public Administrator’s office. “Public service begins with people,” he said. “The more we listen, the better we can serve.” With additional community events already on his calendar, Salazar looks forward to continuing those conversations throughout Clark County in the weeks ahead.
